Livestock
At Howsons Lodge animal welfare is a priority, when animals are reared to the highest welfare standards, the end product will be of the utmost quality. The Tebbit family take excellent care of their stock, their cattle spend the spring and summer months grazing succulent grass and during the winter months they are housed in large airy barns on deep straw bedding. They are fed a natural diet of home grown wheat, beans and straw mixed with molasses and complimented with ad lib silage.
With such high standards for their own animals, the Tebbits carefully source all the other meat, poultry and eggs from farms that are members of Farm Assurance Schemes. The animals are farmed under strict guidelines and are inspected annually, thus ensuring that the animals are reared to the highest welfare standards.
Customers are invited to see the cattle but please ask in advance to ensure there is a member of the family available to escort you.
